Captain Stats
Arsenal's injury problems came at a bad time for fantasy players as many held them through their off week in order to capitalise on their upcoming games but now Van Persie, Walcott and Fabregas will miss this week's game with the former pair out for even longer than that. Despite topping the predicted scoring charts this week then, it is tough to find too many Gunners worthy of the arm band.

Carlos Tevez - This is where most players will settle this week and on fixture alone they aren't far wrong. Tevez started very slowly at home but he has added 2 big games in his last 3 at Eastlands (5 goals in 3 games) and is as good form as any of the big name strikers right now (perhaps just behind Rooney).

Mario Balotelli - 2 goals in a week for Balotelli might act as a reminder for Mancini that Super Mario is still around though he is of course a risky proposition to captain. If you need to take a risk though his ceiling is sky high and in the 8 games he has played an hour or more he has 6 goals including 4 in his last two games (both at home).

Wayne Rooney - The in form striker in the league right now, Rooney has 5 goals in his last 5 games and is close to the form he has struggled to show since a year ago. Having fallen apart down the stretch last year due to injury (and a subsequent rushed return) it would be some form of consolation for Rooney if he could finish strong this year. Based on fixtures I see Rooney as the best long term replacement for Van Persie too.

Dimitar Berbatov - Given his history of being benched against the best teams, I can't back Berbatov this week.

Nani - The fixture isn't great and Nani has struggled away from home but he remains the best midfield option in the game and so deserves some attention. His last two road games have given him 18 points though and he has 4 goals in the last 7 overall. Not the slam dunk he has been of late but still right up there despite the tricky game.

Marouane Chamakh - Appeared to have fallen off the face of the earth of late with just 35 minutes in the 8 games since Arsenal squad got fit but now they have injuries again, he could be back in the fantasy lime light. He was on the scoresheet last night against Leyton Orient and should be locked in for a start this week. When starting he added 4 goals in 7 home games so he is at least worth a thought if you have Van Persie and cannot stretch to one of the pricier options above.

Didier Drogba - I'm not sure what's wrong with him but the arrival or Torres hasn't helped and Drogba is not own-able never mind captain-able right now.

Already used my free transfer this week to bring in Foster. Wondering if Odemwingie => Saha plus a 4 pt hit is worth it.

Chris, can you please add the 2nd games for Bham and Everton to the clean sheet and attacking rankings?

Chris or anyone, am I crazy for captaining Zigic for the double gameweek? I am on top of my money league so I dont really need a differential and I have Tevez, Rooney, Nani, and Nasri playing that I could captain.

Craig, I would say its a good idea because of Everton's DGW and their run of fixtures compared to WBA's fixtures, BUT I also usually make more transfers than I should so I might not be the best person to trust on that.

I'm taking Saha for captain. Might be a little risky but I'm guessing he regains form in at least one of the two games.

And for what it's worth I also like the Odem -> Saha for the 4 point penalty. Vela is WBA's in form striker right now so it's hard to bet on Odem getting many points.

Chris- Just curious how you see Lampard performing this week and for the rest of the season. He has a good fixture, and at only 5% he could be a differentiator coming into form (albeit an expensive one). I'm currently in 3rd place, 50 points out of 1st and in need of some catchup points!

Thinking I would sell Berbatov for Zigic or Saha and with the extra money take a 4 point hit to bring in Lampard for Van der Vaart.

Berbatov is a risk to come off the bench, VDV out, Adam out, Coleman likely to only start once, and Ferguson likely to miss one or both fixtures all worry me a little this week

This is my current squad:

Szczensny (Begovic)

R Johnson - Simpson - Bardsley - Coleman (Foley)

Silva - Ferguson - Nani (Van der Vaart, Adam)

Tevez - Berbatov - Rooney

Chris,

HELP HELP HELP!

After an incredibly succesful few weeks, I'm in a terrible pickle. I have Cesc, Van P, and Walcott, not to mention DJ Campbell and C Adam! What do I do. The one saving grace is that I have 2 free transfers this week, but who do I sell!

I'm thinking DJ C out for Sturridge or Saha. But I'm going to neeed to replace at least one of my midfielders to stand a chance of fielding a full team. I'm leaning towards Walcott cos his injury seems worse, but Fabregas is v. expensive and has been a little off the pace of late. Also, even if I can decide who to sell, non-one is really standing out to buy in midfield. Who would you suggest!?

Van P -> Rooney
Campbell -> Saha
Fabregas -> Downing

What d'ya think?
Balotelli or Carlito? Balotelli or Carlito? Balotelli or Carlito? Balotelli or Carlito? Balotelli or Carlito? Balotelli or Carlito? Balotelli or Carlito?
And Mike, whassup with Coleman? Dead leg?

Doc Häagen-Dazs - I don't know how reliable this blogger is, but he put a doubt in the back of my mind that I could rely on a double from Coleman. I plan to start him anyway and hope for the best.

Rolling the dice with this lineup....

Szczensny

R Johnson, Simpson, Coleman

Silva, Wilshere, Lampard, Nani

Tevez(C), Zigic, Rooney
I agree, Mike. I had Coleman before this double week. I'm going to ride it out. Same with Craig Gardner. I have a lot of trepidation. If Tevez doesn't come through as Captain for me, I'll be dead in the water.

I'm absolutely gutted about the Arsenal injuries, particularly to Van Persie. My line-up now reads

Foster, Kingson;

Johnson R, Onouha, Bardsley, Kolarov, Coleman;

Fabregas, Adam, Nani, McCarthy, J Barton;

Tevez, Van Persie, Berbatov;

Can do absolutely nothing this week as I made very early transfers for this week to get Tevez in. Annoyingly I also brought Van Persie in a double transfer before his injury (I'd transferred him out the week before to avoid the CC final)! Was one of those things that looked like it was going to be a good move at the time, but now looks like an absolute clanger!

Any way I'm wondering what you think would be a good way forward. I'm thinking that Fabregas hasn't been outstanding this season, so could be due the chop. Rooney's re-emergence probably needs to be capitalised on, but I wonder how this affects Berbatov as a fantasy option. What strikers would you like to finish out the season on? Also who are good options in midfield for Fabregas? Maybe Nasri, or possible a left field option like Ashley Young.
I'm also paying for over-ivestment in Gunners. I had to get Rooney to replace Persie, which requires me to lose Berbi. I now have 7 points with City not having started yet....
