I'm back (but am I needed?)

Great work everyone during my off week, I'm gonna have to get some serious research done after alot of your captain and clean sheet picks worked out well last week.

Seven clean sheets gave a few teams some better returns from their back line, particularly with three of these coming from Arsenal, United and Chelsea. Heartbreak for fellow Ashley Cole who missed the clean sheet after Cole was a late scratch from the team sheet. Arsenal's clean sheet was a bit more surprising with Spurs averaging over 2 goals on the road this year and it was encouraging to see Song and Diaby dropped deeper as time went by which suggests Arsenal defenders could be more reliable in the coming weeks. They have frustrated us on several occasions this season throwing away the odd goal after the game was already won, so I was pleased to see them protect their clean sheet against Spurs. I like Song alot for 5.5m though some caution must be placed on his value as he could lose his place when Denilson returns (due at the end of the month). Another interesting option is Kieran Gibbs (4.5m) who looks set to benefit from Gael Clichy's injury (also due back in around a month).

More goals for the big strikers this week as Drogba, Van Persie, Rooney and Anelka all hit the back of the net. Aruna Dindane also announced himself on the scene with an impressive hattrick though I would not get carried away with that one just yet.

I'm still on board with the big striker strategy though suggestions of life from Lampard and the big four defenders suggest this may need consideration in the coming weeks.

I'll post my week 12 preview tomorrow night and follow it up with an injury post on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Again, thanks for all the posts in my absence, your comments really do make the blog work.

Chris,

welcome back chap! It was nice to see everyone pitching in and adding something to the blog. Of course you are needed!!!;-)

The big money strikers continue to deleiver...Cesc proves he is still the best value buy...and Lamps hs rewarded those who stuck my him (neither you nor i)

Butis Lamps relly back to the player he was last year? I still not convinced. 2 of his 3 goals have come via the penalty (thanks to Didier) and the one from open play Didier hand a hand in. I still dont see him imposing himself on the game (at Bolton he showed signs). Jole Cole may also hinder Lamps returing to fantasy points glory.

what you think?

This is such an awesome blog.

This is my first year of fantasy football and I'm hooked already and desperate to beat my mates. I've been researching all over the net and this has to be the best source I've found.

Found this site on saturday, very impressed with the insight. Look forward to seeing what other nuggets are to come.

Keep up the good work Chris.

thanks for the input and kind words guys.

I am so torn on Lampard right now. I totally agree with you Dre that he is yet to be convincing but with the points starting to come he must garner some attention at least. I won't be jumping on boad just yet but he is back on my radar.
