Gameweek 18 Injury Update

Not too many new injuries this week, which is lucky considering the need for many us to move United and Wigan players around. Some long term casualties are staring to become fit (Martin Skrtel, Fernando Torres and Eduardo) and these situations should monitored in terms of both buying bargains and your current players losing value as they find their way to the bench.
Without any further delay lets go around the week's games for a quick injury update:

United and Wigan are of course not playing which may lead to some of us having to pay for transfers this week (I just coughed up 4 points myself).
Some potential benefactors of the above injuries are Alex/Ivanovic who will continue to deputise for Carvalho. Agger/Hyypia who will stand in for Skrtel for at least one more week. Steven Gerrard should continue his advanced role against Arsenal likely playing behind Dirk Kuyt in Torres' absence. Bernard Mendy could also be a sneaky pickup as both Dawson and McShane will miss out for Hull which should see the former PSG winger start once again this week.

Garrido played 90 mins. in the UEFA Cup. I'd say "probable." Seems to be the clear favourite over Ball, when fit.

Spurs: "Ledley King (knee), Jonathan Woodgate (back) and Darren Bent (tonsillitis) are struggling and will require late checks, as do Aaron Lennon (groin) and Luka Modric (hamstring)." (Yahoo)

RSC is a major doubt for Blackburn (late news) and I also think Mendy could be a good selection this week but after that Hull's fixtures get much tougher..

at least he's just 4.0M and bombs forward... that guy has some real wheels.

I've been a big Mendy fan since his season on loan at Bolton a few years back. The combination of returning players (Dawson) and tough fixtures don't make him a long term play, but I think you could so worse than pick him up for say Figueroa this week and stash him on the bench for the next 5 or so.

Where's Belhadj today? Not starting, and not even on the bench...

Cisse keeps on delivering for me, another goal. Now it is time to load up on MU players for their upcoming double. Started to get back CRON at 14.5 before he's back at 14.7 in a few days. Also considering vdSar for Cech, and Vidic for Bosingwa, or I might get a cheaper option like Rafael. Not sure about 6.8 for Carrick

Rafael is definitely not worth owning. He plays defense, but is listed in FPL as a midfielder, so he doesn't get those 4 points for clean sheets.
