I always look forward to these articles. It provides the final data to picking my team and captain. But, and there's always a 'but', is there any chance of getting the article earlier than thursday? Even having it available on wednesday's would help with transfer planning.

In a similar vein, I would like you to provide all of this free analysis for players and clubs in Serie A. I will need it by lunchtimes on Tuesdays, although I could handle the occasional Tuesday evening with sufficient notice (just don't make a habit of it).

Hey Chris, I hope all's well and that you're enjoying the World Cup.

For the avoidance of doubt, I want to confirm that I was being sarcastic in my post above. I am repeatedly staggered by the lack of gratitude that some people display when offered an amazing free service such as your blog.

My lines about Serie A, etc were intended to play Graeme's tone back to him in an exaggeration fashion.

It would be extremely unfortunate if they were interpreted in any other way.

As ever, I look forward to another post from you in hope rather than expectation.

Happy holidays everyone; it's been a while. For those not on Twitter, I was away in Costa Rica over the break without much - if any - internet access hence the lack of posts around these electronic pages. Well, actually, that's only the main reason, not the only one. Selecting defenders within the same team

We talked about this earlier in the season, but with a couple more games in the bag, I've updated the viz which attempts to help you choose your defenders. The "All Players" tab should in theory help you do this coming with a blank slate, but the r aison d'etre for the viz is to help you choose between players in the same side, once you've decided that, for example, you want a City defender. The viz can be found linked from the main menu , and here and should be opened separately to best read this piece. A few notes as of GW5 below. Arsenal I'm not sure how much value there is with this defense right now, but if you are planning to play the fixtures and take a chance with one of Emery's men, this would suggest it should be Mustafi rather than the 10% owner Bellerin who you should target. The more things change . . .

Personally, I've just wrapped up one of the best and almost certainly most important years of my life, having got married, travelled to four continents, finally got a new job and bought a house. For this blog though, the results have been less promising. I considered charting the quality of content here with my life developments or perhaps dousing the fire of my own work but given that I'm still travelling I'll stick to simple words for now. Long story short, I've had priorities which have trumped this blog which meant that (a) the weekly content has suffered (and stopped at the end of the last season) and (b) I totally ignored this year's pre season activities. My policy has always been to only post things which are worth reading so I didn't ever want to mail anything in with out of date data or banal narratives.
